when the Procure des Missions Etrangeres was removed to its

present site Caine Road where we intend to remain as long

as possible.

I may add should the Missions in the future

require further lands in the Colony for its works, it will he

desirable to have grants for the terms of 999 years as here-

tofore.

I am not in a position to say how the grant

of a less term of years may affect land sales in Victoria,or

what provision should be made to guard the tenant's interests

on the expiration of the leases. The latter question seems to

me to be purely a legal one.
